Discharge Electrode System
SEI Discharge Electrodes eliminate internal electrical fretting and fatigue, avoiding the problem of wire self destruction. SEI's special wire assumes the maximum degree of performance and reliability.
- Shroud is solid cold-rolled steel, not tubular. A strong electrical connection prevents internal electrical fretting between the shroud and wire.
- Button or hook shrouds allow the wire and shroud to move together, minimizing wire fatigue.
- Standard wire materials include ASTM Grade A-229, Class I oil-tempered, spring steel, ASTM Grade A-227, hard drawn spring steel, type 304 stainless steel, type 316L stainless steel and SEI custom 410 Grade stainless steel designed for high temperature applications.
- Sturdy 3/8" diameter extra-long shrouds protect the wire from electrical erosion.
- Exacting manufacturing procedures and material specifications assure a straight, kink-resistant wire.
- No tools are required for installation.
Stabilized Lower Discharge Frame
The following improvements are small, but they make a big difference in performance:
- Assembles inside the hopper for ease of installation
- Four-point wire suspension means no swinging suspension rods or multiple wires which could reduce precipitator power.
- Slack wires from hung-up or frozen weights are virtually eliminated by the dimensional tolerances of the heavy cold-rolled "pigtail" design.
- The frame can be adjusted after assembly for optimum alignment at each gas path.
Stabilized Wire Weight
Not just another weight, the Stabilized Weight helps prevents stress breakage, low performance and arcing normally caused by wire whip.
A "button" or "hook" wire interface allows the shroud and wire to move as one. This eliminates the mains source of wire fatigue - rapper induced oscillation patterns that cause stress at the wire-shroud junction.
With two to three times the clearance provided by most OEM designs, weight bottom-out is avoided. Up to three inches of clearance for wire expansion is available.
